Why we should support the EFF. The Electronic Communications Act of 1986 protected email the same as intercepted phone calls requiring a warrant for authorities to "listen in". Unfortunately a glaring privacy loophole has existed in Title II of the law The Stored Communications Act. Any stored email has been subject to seizure by authorities if they simply stated that they needed it for an investigation. No warrant has been required, until now maybe. A federal judge has ruled this violates the 4th amendment. DUH? full story at www.eff.org/deeplinks/2010/12/breaking-news-eff-victory-appeals-court-holds
